Pierre Alechinsky made this print titled "Rattle-less Snake" with lithography, and he made it his own. I can tell you, as a painter myself, this piece just *feels* like a process. The central image is like a little world of green and yellow, with a winding snake that seems to glow. It’s surrounded by a border of scratchy red lines, a frenzy of faces and shapes. I love the way the red almost seems to seep into the central image, like the energy of the border is trying to break into the calm of the snake. Look at how the yellow and green blend together, giving the snake a kind of shimmery, alive quality. The lithography gives it a flat feel, but that raw energy brings it to life, its a conversation between control and chaos. You know, this reminds me of Joan Miró, that playful sense of line and color. Ultimately, art is about that ongoing conversation, embracing the questions, and letting the snake wind its own way.
