This photograph titled, 'Interieur met bovenverdieping,' invites us into an interior space using the simple ingredients of light and shadow, form and perspective. The muted tones create a sort of dance between visibility and concealment. It’s like a muted symphony, where each element contributes to the overall atmosphere. The texture, or rather, the suggestion of texture, adds another layer to the experience. You can almost feel the smooth coolness of the stone, or the grainy warmth of the wood. My eye is drawn to the upper section of the building. How the artist has created windows that look almost like flower petals. It softens the cold interior. You can see the artist wanted to play with shapes. The geometry is interesting, and it makes me think about the way Sol LeWitt explored geometric forms in his wall drawings. Both artists invite us to consider the world around us through the lens of shape, line, and form. It's all just experimentation.
