Le pecheur 1989

Nicolae Maniu made "Le Pecheur" with oil on canvas. It's intriguing how Maniu approached the canvas; the smoothness almost feels like a photograph. I can't help but think of Gerhard Richter's photorealist paintings, but with an added layer of existential drama.
