This 17th-century Delftware jug, created by an anonymous artist, is a prime example of Dutch decorative arts. Dating back to c. 1686, the jug features a white tin-glazed earthenware body and a blue and white painted design. The design includes a coat of arms, a date, and stylized floral elements. The jug is a testament to the high quality and artistic skill of Delftware potters during this period and is an excellent illustration of the popular blue-and-white decorative style, known as Delft Blue, popular in the Netherlands.
