Curatorial notes

Editor: So, this is an untitled photograph by Jack Gould, showing a man and a woman chatting in a laundromat. It feels very ordinary, almost like a snapshot from a movie. What catches your eye? Curator: It's a beautiful slice of mid-century Americana, isn't it? The casual intimacy within this mundane space sings to me. What are they talking about, I wonder? Perhaps the price of a single load - fifteen cents! It's a time capsule, really. Editor: I hadn’t thought of it that way, but it really is. Thanks! Curator: My pleasure. What hidden stories do you think other seemingly ordinary images could tell?
