Curator: Today, we’re looking at Anthony Benjamin’s *Drifting Blue Edge*. Editor: My first impression is of buoyant energy. The color choices create an immediate sense of playful, almost rebellious, vibrancy. Curator: Benjamin's deployment of form and color is certainly striking. Consider the central rectangle; the purple ground acts as a container for these biomorphic shapes. Editor: It seems to speak to the boundaries of experience, pushing against societal norms. The red shapes bordering the purple rectangle—are they contained or escaping? Curator: An interesting reading. I am more drawn to the formal relationships at play; the dialogue between positive and negative space. Editor: Perhaps, but let's not ignore the period it was created in. This work also resonates with its contemporary social movements. Curator: A point well taken, but I still find the interaction of the line and color to be the most compelling aspect. Editor: And I the possibility of liberation inherent in its composition. Still, a good reminder that art can affect us each so differently.
