"Kan'ei Picture Album" (Kan'ei gafu 完瑛画譜) is a beautiful album of bird and flower paintings by the Japanese artist Nishiyama Ken (1833–1897). This album is one of the finest examples of Japanese bird-and-flower painting known as kachō-ga, and it is currently held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Nishiyama Ken's refined brushwork and meticulous attention to detail in this album reflects the refined taste of the late Edo period and the Meiji era in Japan.
