Mathieu Lauweriks made this necklace design with pencil, in 1912, and it's all about geometry! You know, when I look at the radiating lines behind the necklace, I think about planning and process. You can see the underlying structure of the design, all these geometric guidelines, which kind of reveals the artist’s working method. You can imagine Lauweriks at his desk, carefully mapping everything out. It’s pretty cool when an artist shows you their thinking like that. Look at the pendant with its little repeated patterns. It reminds me that art is really just an ongoing conversation, and that we are always figuring things out as we go.
