Karl Wiener made this piece, Farbstudien, 10 Blätter I, with watercolor, and it's all about the joy of color. The shapes feel so off-the-cuff, like he’s just letting the paint do its thing, which is a process I can totally get behind. I love how the watercolor creates these soft, hazy areas, almost like memories. The orange bleeds into the green, and the whole thing feels like it's breathing. The top right corner, where the orange is the most intense, it feels like a burst of energy, a little jolt. And then you see the way the green kind of melts into the paper, so subtle. It makes me think of artists like Hilma af Klint, who also used color to explore inner worlds. It reminds us that art is just an ongoing conversation, a way of seeing and feeling that keeps evolving.
