BEHIND THE SCENES 

"Behind the Scenes" is a black and white etching by the English artist John Leech (1817–1864). The etching depicts two women in a kitchen setting. The woman on the left is wearing a dress and apron, and she is holding a tray of food. The woman on the right is dressed in a more formal gown, and she is holding a glass of water. The scene appears to be a glimpse into the backstage of a theatrical production, with the two women possibly being actresses preparing for a performance.
