Editor: So, this is "Cave" by Jean-Baptiste Isabey, housed here at the Harvard Art Museums. It's a really moody piece, all in these muted tones, and it makes me think about solitude. What do you see in it? Curator: For me, it’s about contrasts. Light dances with shadow, revealing the cave's secrets. Isabey invites us to ponder our place in the grand scheme, doesn't he? Almost like a stage set for introspection. Editor: Introspection – I like that. It definitely feels like there's more than meets the eye. Curator: Exactly! It’s a space for dreaming. I find that thinking about art is like a cave: a dark place where you find gems. Editor: That’s a great image to keep with me. Thanks for sharing this view.
