Editor: This is Robert David Gauley’s "Amalfi," and it looks like watercolor on paper. I'm really drawn to how he captured the sea and sky with almost the same brushstrokes. What do you see in this piece? Curator: It whispers of fleeting moments, doesn't it? The blues blend and blur, like a memory half-forgotten. Gauley seems less interested in perfect representation, and more in capturing the feeling of being there, the salty air, the echoing crash of the waves. Does it make you want to grab a gelato?
