Requena Nozal made this painting called, "Serie Murano (Fragmento)," with what looks like big, generous blobs of acrylic paint. It’s a testament to the joy of process. The surface is built up with these distinct, almost sculptural marks, isn't it? Each dab is like a little world of color, swirled and mixed right on the canvas. You can almost feel the squeak of the brush as it drags and deposits its load. Take that red blob near the top left. See how the artist pulled a bit of white through it? That little detail makes it pop, gives it depth. It’s like Nozal is saying, "Here, look at this moment, this one touch." This reminds me of the work of Larry Poons, who was all about letting the paint do its thing. But where Poons can be cool and detached, Nozal feels warm, inviting. It's like they're whispering, "Come on in, the paint's fine!" Art's an ongoing conversation, right?
