Here is an image of a street with lighted windows by Carl Claudius. It's printed in a book. The way the light spills out from those windows, like a warm stain on the dark street, just grabs you, right? Looking closely, you see how the tones shift, creating these hazy, undefined edges. There’s this real sense of atmosphere. You can almost feel the dampness of the street, the quiet hum of the city at night. It reminds me a bit of some of the cityscapes by the American painter Edward Hopper, especially the way he uses light to create a mood. There’s a shared sensibility of capturing the quiet, melancholic moments of urban life. Ultimately, the work remains mysterious, inviting us to bring our own associations and experiences.
