This anonymous etching, titled "Bruid tijdens haar huwelijksfeest" (Bride during her wedding feast), depicts a wedding scene likely taking place in the Netherlands in the 17th century. The piece showcases a formal gathering with a central figure, presumably the bride, surrounded by guests. The intricate details of the interior space, the finely dressed figures, and the text above the scene all contribute to the sense of pomp and ceremony associated with weddings during the period. The two cherubic figures flanking the scene add a symbolic dimension, possibly alluding to themes of love, marriage, and virtue.
