"Lazarus bedelt in het huis van de rijke man" (Lazarus begs at the house of the rich man) is a 1629 engraving by Christoffel van (II) Sichem, a Dutch artist active from 1581 to 1658. The artwork, now in the Rijksmuseum, depicts the biblical parable of Lazarus and the rich man, where a poor man is ignored by a wealthy man at a lavish feast. Sichem's work is known for its intricate detail and dynamic composition, showing the stark contrast between the two men. The engraving's small size, measuring 112 mm in height and 75 mm in width, adds to its intimate and powerful effect.
