Giacinto Capelli made this drawing of a jug, we don’t know exactly when or why. It’s just here, you know? I love how he's playing with the weight of the form using these washy, almost watercolor-like tones. The whole thing feels like it's about to dissolve, but then those bold blue lines of the animal design pop, grounding the piece. The animal illustration on the jug has a naive quality. You can almost feel Capelli's hand moving across the page, trying to capture the essence of the jug without getting too caught up in the details. Look closely at how the blues bleed just a little bit, creating this soft halo effect. It's these small moments that give the drawing its charm. It reminds me a bit of Cy Twombly’s work – this beautiful messiness that feels both accidental and totally intentional. Art isn't about perfection; it's about the conversation.
