We are invited to consider the material, the pigment itself, and the labor and industrial processes involved in its creation. It challenges the traditional hierarchy between art and industry. Does it make you consider the value of materials used to make art? Editor: It does! Seeing the raw pigment makes me think about the global supply chains that bring these colors to artists.
