This enforced uniformity, mirrored in their poses, communicates a sense of unity, of shared identity within this commercial fraternity. Think of how celebratory imagery has been used through history—parades, feasts—as demonstrations of power, prosperity, and collective identity. Editor: It does evoke classical imagery too... Thinking about how photography freezes such images and can be referenced much later. Curator: Absolutely. Furthermore, consider the lighting. While even, the subtle play of light and shadow might tell its own story – perhaps alluding to the weight of responsibility on the individuals but also creating a sort of unity in presentation.
