Iseult Labote’s *Exo Mattresses n°VI* looks like it was composed with textiles and found objects in a confined space. The palette seems muted, dominated by greys and browns, and the various floral and geometric patterns compete for visual attention. I imagine Labote working, arranging and re-arranging these items, searching for a balance. It's like she's a sculptor, but instead of clay, she uses old mattresses, blankets, and sheets. The composition feels both accidental and deliberate, an intimate snapshot, or a carefully constructed stage set. The corner space adds to the claustrophobia. Is this an art piece or just someone's junk corner? This piece reminds me of the Arte Povera movement, where artists used everyday materials to challenge traditional art values. What I love most about this kind of work is how it blurs the boundaries between life and art, inviting us to see beauty and meaning in the mundane. These artists are constantly in conversation, riffing on one another's ideas, pushing the limits of what art can be.
