Curator: Up next we have a fascinating engraving entitled "Parnassus" by Guiseppe Mochetti, currently residing here at the Harvard Art Museums. Editor: My first impression? It feels like witnessing a Renaissance play frozen in time, the stark black and white adding a theatrical flair. Curator: It's based on Raphael's fresco of the same name at the Vatican. Mochetti expertly captures the grouping of Apollo surrounded by the Muses, poets, and literary figures. Editor: The composition, framed by that arch, really draws the eye to the central figures. It's a complex arrangement, yet there's a harmony in how the figures interact, almost a visual symphony. I am drawn to the group on the left. What is your reading? Curator: I feel that the density of the scene is exciting, but in person, I think I might try to make my way to the center. To bathe in the glory and magic! Editor: I agree, the center is magic. It has been a pleasure viewing with you today. Curator: And with you!
