This pair of silver ewers, created by renowned French silversmith Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot between 1800 and 1815, exemplifies the Neoclassical style popular during the period. The ewers, each standing at 32 1/2 inches tall, are adorned with intricate ornamentation, including winged figures perched atop a dolphin-shaped spout and a base with a variety of mythological scenes. The ewers are a testament to Odiot's exceptional craftsmanship and his ability to capture the elegance and sophistication of the Neoclassical aesthetic. They are now part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection in New York City.
