Charlotte Winter made these textile swatches with an unknown medium on paper; isn't it interesting how a bunch of rectangles can hold so much potential? Each swatch is a little world, a different mood. I am drawn to the bottom right swatch: a kind of twilight blue ground scattered with golden crescents, almost floral, almost lunar. There's something comforting about the way the colors work together, like a gentle hum. I can almost feel the fabric itself: its weave, its weight, its potential to be something more. It reminds me that art isn't just about the final product; it is about the process of making, the endless variations and possibilities that exist within a single idea. Like the bold colors and blocky forms of Sonia Delaunay, these swatches remind me of the playful way that art can be applied to the everyday. It's a reminder that beauty can be found in the smallest details, if you just take the time to look.
