This Manchu "Cushion Cover" is a highly decorated piece of textile art from the Qing dynasty. It features an intricate design of blue dragons against a yellow background, surrounded by a border of green waves. This design is typical of Chinese imperial art, in which dragons symbolized power and good fortune. While the exact date of this work is unknown, it is believed to have been created between 1644 and 1911. Today, the "Cushion Cover" is housed at the Art Institute of Chicago.
