"The Call of the Cuckoo from above the Clouds (parody of Minamoto no Yorimasa)" is a woodblock print by Suzuki Harunobu, created around 1766. This ukiyo-e print depicts a young woman in traditional Japanese clothing sitting on a veranda, seemingly captivated by a cuckoo bird singing from the clouds above. The print is a parody of the famous warrior Minamoto no Yorimasa, who is known for his association with the cuckoo bird. This playful, and delicate work showcases Harunobu's masterful use of color and line, typical of his work during the middle of the 18th century. It is currently held in the collection of The Art Institute of Chicago.
