Caroline Durieux made this dreamy "Dinosaur Egg" print using lithography. The earthy palette makes me think about the textures and colors of prehistoric landscapes. There's a central ovoid form, with vertical striations in brown, and an amoeba-like crown in white that looks like lace or clouds. I wonder if Caroline felt like an archaeologist, unearthing something ancient. I can imagine her in the studio, pulling one print after another, each slightly different, a little family of eggs. The egg-like form reminds me of Eva Hesse's sculptures, organic and otherworldly. And the overall effect recalls Hilma af Klint’s mystical abstractions. It is as if each artist is tapping into some universal life force. It's like Caroline’s print is not just an image, but an invitation into a world of primordial forms, and an intimate conversation about the beginnings of things.
