Herman van Swanevelt’s etching, "Bjerglandskab, i forgrunden to vandrere. "Bjerget"" (Mountain Landscape, in the Foreground Two Hikers. "The Mountain"), depicts a serene, rocky landscape. The composition is dominated by towering, verdant cliffs, a winding stream, and two figures at the bottom, perhaps two hikers or travelers. The detailed rendering of the rocks, trees, and water, and the distant mountain ranges, create a sense of depth and grandeur, typical of the Dutch Golden Age. The etching is housed at the Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen.
