Editor: Here we have an ink and wash drawing from the British School, currently without a title. It’s diminutive in size, and evokes a sense of fleeting, hazy memory. What do you make of its muted palette and form? Curator: Ah, yes, it feels like a snatch of a dream, doesn’t it? The way the artist uses the wash, it almost melts the landscape, inviting us to fill in the details from our own experiences. It makes you wonder what the artist saw, or perhaps, *felt*, in that moment? Editor: That’s beautiful, this idea of the artist's feelings embedded in the landscape. It makes me see it in a whole new light. Thanks! Curator: My pleasure! It’s a conversation, isn’t it? The artwork speaks, and we listen… and then, we speak back.
