The composition feels very classical, but what strikes me most is the tenderness in the figures’ gestures. How do you interpret the symbolism within this work? Curator: The grouping itself, of course, carries immense weight. The Holy Family is a cultural touchstone, representing domesticity and piety. But notice the objects Weiss includes - the lamb, a symbol of Christ's sacrifice, and the tools perhaps hinting at Joseph's carpentry and the labor that sustains the family. What emotions do these symbols evoke in you? Editor: It makes me think about the everyday life intertwined with these sacred figures and the weight of their destiny.
