"Bewening van Christus" is an anonymous etching depicting the lamentation of Christ. The scene shows Christ’s body lying on a draped cloth, while his mother Mary and two angels mourn over him. The etching is part of a series of prints that depict the Passion of Christ, a theme popular among artists during the Baroque period, and is now in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
