This is Johannes Alexander Rudolf Best's rendition of "Two Hunters in the Forest" alongside text from the book "The Poacher" which dates back to 1836. Best’s piece visualizes the text by Ludwig Rellstab, a German novelist and critic. Both men emerged as artists in a Europe marked by distinct social stratifications. Rellstab, known for his conservative political stance, wrote critically on the progressive liberal movements of the 1830s and 40s.
