Pierre Alechinsky made this painting called Colloque écologique with oil on canvas. Looking at it, you can really feel the process, like he’s thinking through the paint. I love how the surface feels both loose and deliberate, with these thick strokes of blues, greens and pinks piling up. It’s like he’s building something, but with a wink. And the way he lets the paint drip and smudge—it’s all part of the conversation. Take that looping pink form on the top, it's so gestural, but it feels like something recognisable, like a bird in flight. Thinking about other artists with a similar approach, I'm reminded of Joan Miró, who also embraced this playful freedom and loose mark-making. Ultimately, this painting isn’t trying to tell you one specific thing. Instead, it’s an invitation to dive into the messy, beautiful world of paint and see what you find.
