Deborah Azzopardi’s Bing Bong is a bold visual statement, using an eye-catching swirl and a finger poised to press a button. This button, an invitation to action, echoes the ancient motif of the 'impetus' – the initiation of change. Consider, for instance, Eve offering the apple, the catalyst for humanity's transformation. Azzopardi simplifies this into a pop-art directive: ‘PRESS’. The spiral behind the button is reminiscent of ancient labyrinths, symbolizing the journey, the unknown, and the potential chaos unleashed by that simple act of pressing. In its earlier forms, this symbol was a quest for self-discovery, yet here, it is a modern trigger for an undefined consequence.
