"Flodlandskab" (Landscape by the River) is a small watercolor painting created by Danish artist Jens Juel between 1760 and 1802. The work, now housed at the Statens Museum for Kunst, depicts a rural landscape with a windmill silhouetted against a hazy sky. The painting's muted tones and delicate brushwork evoke a sense of serenity and tranquility, characteristics typical of Juel's later works. The subtle depiction of the windmill is reminiscent of Dutch landscape paintings of the 17th century, highlighting Juel’s interest in the art of his predecessors.
