This circular relief sculpture, created by Jean-Désiré Ringel d'Illzach in 1893, is a portrait of W.H. Vanderbilt. The artwork features a realistic depiction of Vanderbilt's face and beard. The circular frame is adorned with oak leaves and acorns, interspersed with the letters "W.H. Vanderbilt". On the left side of the frame is a depiction of a building with the date 1821, and on the right side is a train engine with the date 1885. This artwork highlights Vanderbilt's importance in the development of the railroad industry, and is now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
