This is a commemorative medal designed by Dutch artist Isaac Weissenbruch, created between 1875-1877. It features four circular medallions, each depicting a different scene related to the Dutch East Indies, specifically Java. These include a woman planting a tree, a scene of agriculture, and two medallions with inscription, commemorating exhibitions held in Surabaya and Soerakarta, Java. This small piece is a unique example of Dutch art from the late 19th century that commemorated the Dutch East Indies during the colonial period. The medal is currently housed at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
