There's an image by Joseph Dadoune, called *Phoenix,* and I'm imagining him making it as an act of rising. I wonder, what does it feel like to be suspended like that? To hang in the balance, caught between earth and sky, like a character in a Beckett play. I picture him thinking about mortality, the body as a fragile vessel, and the human desire to transcend limitations. The piece makes me think about the body as a site of both vulnerability and resilience. Like other process-oriented artists, I'd say Dadoune is using his body and actions to explore themes of identity, memory, and the construction of meaning. And I guess he's inviting us to reflect on our own perceptions and experiences of being in the world. That's what is so generous about art-making: each artist creates their vision with the hope that viewers find their own interpretation of it.
