This set of four "Sweetmeat" glasses, dating back to around 1830, are an exquisite example of cut glass craftsmanship. They are part of the collection at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The glasses feature intricate diamond-shaped patterns and a unique thistle-shaped knop at the base of each stem. These glasses would have been used for serving sweet treats like jams, jellies, and preserves. The delicate design and high level of craftsmanship are a testament to the skilled glassblowers of the 19th century.
