"Salome brings the head of John the Baptist to Herodias" is a woodcut by the Master of Antwerp (I), created between 1485 and 1491. The artwork depicts the biblical story of Salome, who dances for King Herod and demands the head of John the Baptist as a reward. The scene shows Salome presenting the head to Herodias, her mother, while Herod and a servant look on. This artwork is a prime example of the graphic style of the early 15th century and its use of woodcuts to depict historical events from the bible.
