This covered sugar bowl is part of a tea service designed by Jutta Sika, a German ceramicist, in the early 20th century. The white porcelain piece is decorated with a simple but striking pattern of red-brown circles and arcs. The geometric and abstract style of the design reflects the influence of the Art Nouveau movement, which was popular in Europe at the time. The sugar bowl is currently housed in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
